Potential Shooting Guard Trade Targets

The Grizzlies have had an amazing off-season so far. Possibly the best in franchise history.

Since the Dave Joerger debacle, everything has been coming up roses for Memphis. They hired an up-and-coming coach in David Fizdale, who thus far seems to be a great fit (and a great recruiter). They got two lottery-level talents in the draft in Wade Baldwin IV and Deyonta Davis. They re-signed Mike Conley and, in a move that most didn't see coming or at least didn't think could happen, signed sharp-shooter Chandler Parsons to a max deal.

Will Work for Wings: A Post-Draft Look at the Grizzlies Heading Into Free Agency

So the Grizzlies' draft is complete and the consensus seems to be that we did well. Wade Baldwin and Deyonta Davis are both high upside picks who will be on cheap contracts. Plus we added two draft-and-stash international prospects who will be nice trade chips or future pieces.

So that's done. Now where do we stand?

Oh wait... crap. We still don't have any wings. Like, almost any wings.

Grizzlies Draft Analysis Round Up

#17: Wade Baldwin, PG/SG, Vanderbilt (6'4", 202 lbs, +7 wingspan)

5 Predictions & 5 Thoughts on the 2016 NBA Draft

5 Predictions

  1. The Grizzlies take Malachi Richardson, the 6'6" shooting guard out of Syracuse, at #17.
  2. Guys that fall (are taken below their consensus projected draft position): Henry Ellenson, Dejounte Murray, Demetrius Jackson, Tyler Ulis.
  3. Boston finds a suitor for the third pick and whoever moves there takes Croatian big man Dragan Bender.
  4. The Grizzlies trade for either a late first round or early second round pick (Boston at 23, 31, or 35? Philly at 24 or 26?) and select an additional wing.
  5. My mock lottery:
    1. PHI: Ben Simmons, LSU
    2. LAL: Brandon Ingram, Duke
    3. BOS: Dragan Bender, Croatia
    4. PHX: Jaylen Brown, Cal
    5. MIN: Kris Dunn, Providence
    6. NOP: Buddy Hield, Oklahoma
    7. DEN: Jamal Murray, Kentucky
    8. SAC: Marquese Chriss, Washington
    9. TOR: Jakob Poeltl, Utah
    10. MIL: Wade Baldwin, Vanderbilt
    11. ORL: Skal Labissiere, Kentucky
    12. ATL: Domantas Sabonis, Gonzaga
    13. PHX: Furkan Korkmaz, Turkey
    14. CHI: Denzel Valentine, Michigan State

Outside the Box Head Coaching Candidates for the Grizzlies

We all know who the likely targets are for the Grizzlies' vacant head coach position.

But this is silly season! Let's have some fun with it. Who are some of the more out-there candidates to coach the new and (hopefully) improved Goon Squad?
